Picnic Petals is a modern quilt based on a traditional Flowering Snowball block. This tested pattern contains both detailed instructions and diagrams, making it easy to piece. Instructions are provided for three sizes: Throw, Twin and Queen.

Print and cut your own templates included with this purchase or use the Picnic Petals Acrylic Template Set (sold separately here). Using the acrylic template set will save time and increase accuracy.

I designed and pieced the first version of this quilt in 2014 for the Modern Quilt Guild/Michael Miller Fabric Challenge. I was honored when Picnic Petals was selected as one of three winners out of over 750 entries. The original version of Picnic Petals has been shown at quilt shows around the country, including at The National Quilting Association 2015 Annual Quilt Show in Little Rock, Arkansas and QuiltCon 2016 in Pasadena, California.

My friend and I had taken this class at MAQ back in 2019. We signed up because we were interested in doing curve piecing and felt intimidated on doing curves. Sheri made the process so easy, that we enjoyed doing it. Great class to release your fears on curves!

Sheri was the guest speaker at a guild meeting and I enjoyed the presentation and loved her quilts. When they sponsored a class with Sheri, I signed up. The class was great. The pattern is easy to follow and includes line drawing of the quilt to help with fabric choices and layout. I enjoyed working on this quilt and I feel that my piecing skills have improved … I am no longer afraid of curves! PS: I also took the Double Wedding Knot quilt online class with Sheri. If you have an opportunity to take a class, go for it!
